Opera in the Quarry
Opera in the Quarry St. Margarethen is a summer open-air opera festival set in the Roman quarry of northern Burgenland. Since 1996, major works have been staged against a monumental natural backdrop. Under Artistic Director Daniel Serafin, the festival presents new productions with international casts and a large orchestral sound. Performances take place in the quarry’s striking open-air arena, with the season focused on July and August. For under-27s, discounted tickets for selected performances are available in the Ticket Gretchen app, and the Opera Lounge adds to the on-site experience.
